These lenses are made of an older material rather than the newer silicone in the Acuvue Oasys.
The difference between the two materials is that the Acuvue 2 has a high water content whilst the Oasys (newer lenses) has less water but greater breathability so more oxygen gets to your eye.
The older material will not make your eyes dry. The newer material tends to have less water so will make your eyes drier.

Acuvue2 15 plus years!
I am 71 years old and have been wearing the Accuvue 2 contact lens for over 15 years. I can usually wear a pair for a month before replacing and I don't even realize they are in my eyes.
